THE TOWN’S RSA Academy Arrow Vale will be home to a very special educational exhibition for the next week thanks to the Anne Frank Trust UK.

Anne Frank: A History for Today will be on display at the Green Sward Lane site until next Friday (April 22) and will draw to a close in style with a talk from Mindu Hornick, an Auschwitz survivor, on April 29.

Mindu will share her moving story with students during a testimony and answer any questions that students will have thought of during their visit to the exhibition.

The display, which uses Anne Frank’s life and diary, aims to challenge visitors into thinking how such issues Anne and her family faced are relevant today and what we can do to prevent prejudice and discrimination in our own communities, both locally and nationally.

The exhibition provides an especially exciting opportunity for 24 of Arrow Vale’s Year 9 students who will be responsible for running the event and guiding fellow history students and their teachers around the exhibition.

The event will also bring together the string of RSA Academies with Ipsley, Hollyhead and Church Hill Middle all taking part.

Twelve of the guides will be selected to go on and become Ambassadors for the Anne Frank Trust UK and have the opportunity to undertake further guide training to run the larger Anne Frank + You Exhibition which travels around the country.

These Ambassadors will also have the fantastic opportunity to visit Anne Frank’s House in Amsterdam and have access to sections not open to the public.
