THE REDDITCH Association for the Blind have had another successful fund-raiser at the town’s Tesco store.
The cash has helped fund the fortnight luncheon club, parties and trips to the town’s Palace Theatre for the visually impaired.
The group, which is run by volunteers, used a card reader and QR code to boost funds for the first time because it was felt the ‘cashless society’ could hit the number of donations.
Redditch Association for the Blind chairman Bill Payne thanked the people who donated.
He added: “We had a lovely fish and chip lunch with dessert and drink at The Rose and Crown in Webheath, and its thanks to the people of Redditch who are unfailingly kind, generous, and good natured.”
