'Appalled' as abandoned puppies die 24 hours after being found

Redditch Editorial 6th Sep, 2018   0

TWO abandoned puppies, who were too young to fend for themselves, have died despite being picked up by Worcestershire’s Dog Wardens.

Bill and Ben, believed to be less than a week old, were found in the Wychavon area and despite the best efforts of the vets, died in the following 24 hours.

Just an hour after being rescued, Bill passed away and Ben followed the next morning.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services Dog Warden Pip Singleton said: “I am appalled that this could happen in this day and age and the only positive I can take from this is that the puppies were surrounded by love and warmth in their final moments.

“I urge residents to get their pets neutered, if you don’t want to breed puppies, and if your dog is unexpectedly pregnant, then help is available. Please contact us rather than create more suffering to such adorable and loyal creatures.”

WRS Duty Dog Wardens are on hand on 01905 822799.
