A CALL has gone out for ‘All Revolting Children’ – from Redditch’s fabulous ensemble Indigo Arts.
Having spent most of the pandemic performing songs online, Young Indigo have been returning to ‘real’ workshops in recent weeks, where although they still can’t all sing together, they are enjoying a bit of dance and drama, some individual singing and recording, and a whole lot of fun with their Indigo community.
Director Cathy Moss said: “The inability to plan and produce the regular shows, fundraising events and activities, over such a long period, has proved somewhat frustrating, and the Indigo team felt that, with some kind of normality returning slowly, it was time to plan for 2022, and have something to which everyone could look forward.”
So when the opportunity came along for them to produce the perfect musical for their talented members, post pandemic, it just had to be followed up.
As a result they are all excited to have obtained a licence for the brilliant musical ‘Matilda Jr’ to be performed at the beginning of April 2022, in their trademark pop-up venue in the Kingfisher Centre.
Indigo and their top team, would be delighted to welcome other children and young people to the production, which is designed for years 18 and under.
First auditions for main characters are on Tuesday Wednesday June 15-16 at their Arts Lab home in the Kingfisher.
“Indigo will involve all those joining in the ‘ensemble’ roles, so if you fancy being one of those ‘revolting children’, contact Indigo as soon as possible!” said Cathy.
Indigo Arts celebrates its 20th birthday this year, and a number of events are planned for later in 2021.
