Appeal for witnesses after armed robbery attempt at Redditch store

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted armed robbery that occurred at the Co-op, in Evesham Road, Crabbs Cross at 4pm on Saturday, August 24.

The incident occurred when two men, both in their 20s and with local accents, came in to the shop wearing masks and carrying a hammer and a knife.

One was wearing green camouflage ‘boilersuit’ clothing.

They demanded money from the staff, some of whom were shut up in a cupboard for a short time.




Nothing was stolen during the attempted robbery and the thieves fled empty handed.

It’s believed they ran towards Kenilworth Close, towards the recreation ground and the Pleck – the field behind Kenilworth Close.


No one was injured.
