Are you in the running to help the refugees in Redditch and Bromsgrove?

LACE up your running shoes for the Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcome Refugees 3km fun run.

It’s this Saturday, July 15 in Bromsgrove’s Sanders Park from 9am to 12 noon with participants asked to turn up at 8.30am.

The route is suitable for runners, joggers and walkers and to date participants ranging from five years old to 84 years young have signed up to take part.

There will be goody bags and engraved medals for participants, and an impressive ‘Gimme Shelter’ trophy for the winner.




BRWR advocate and local poet Spoz and his band will be on the bandstand, Kevin the Bromsgrove Town Crier will start the race and there will be a donation station for clothing, sleeping bags, blankets, dignity packs which the charity ‘People in Motion’ will then deliver to refugees in the camps in Northern Europe and beyond.

There will be a display and information about BRWR, which so far has been supporting five families to integrate into life in Redditch.


Entry on the day is £8 for adults, £4 for under 18s.
