THE rain held off as the flags were saluted at Alcester Armed Forces Day and garden party on Saturday (June 25)
About 120 people, including members of the Royal British Legion, came along to see the official flag raising ceremony on the church green at St Nicolas’ Church in Alcester in recognition of the armed forces.
Branch secretary David Malin said: “I would like to thank everyone who came along on the day and saluted the forces alongside us.
“We didn’t expect to receive such wonderful support and we did Alcester proud in the national event.”
The garden party that followed the flag ceremony raised £310 for the British Legion.
