THERE’S art bursting out all over the place in Studley as 21 local businesses and the village’s Artists Workhouse join the Warwickshire Open Studios event.
They’ve even got the Church involved with St Mary’s in Studley, St Mary’s at Olberrrow (just of the Henley Road) and the Church of the Holy Ascension in Mappleborough Green all taking part.
“Everyone is getting on board including Studley Community Infants School who have been working on their project, and we’ve also got Four Acres residential home taking part,” said Dawn Harris of the village’s Artists Workhouse, where eight studios will be open to visitors.
A walking trail has been designed to guide art lovers around the village and to give them a taste of some of the fabulous businesses there are in Studley.
Among those exhibiting are the fabulous Anneka Smith at PSW on Alcester Road, the glorious cow art of Sam Morris at Studley Florist on High Street and internationally acclaimed artist Sandra Wadkin will be at both Vanity Hair by Design also on High Street and at AK Fitted Interiors on Alcester Road.
“I knows that there’s a fair amount of excitement about the display at Studley Parish Church where they have five or six artists lined up,” said Dawn.
Oldberrow Church meanwhile will be featuring Christian icons while Mappleborough Green Church is putting on a performance by organist Matthew Bason at 2pm on Saturday, June 15.
The Warwickshire Open Studios events runs from June 15 to Sunday, June 30 right across the county. For full details visit the event online.
