ART and craft lovers are in for a treat this bank holiday Monday with the return of the Inkberrow village green art fair.
Now in its fifth year, the annual event brings together artists from several local villages on the green to display and sell their creative works.
This year visitors can expect to find paintings in a variety of mediums, as well as ceramics, quilting, glass fusion art, jewellery and bookbinding.
The idea for the event came from renowned landscape painter John Harris, who lives in the village, was fed up with the closure of the galleries he normally supplied during the Covid lockdown.
In the summer of 2020 he put posters around the area, appealing for anyone who had taken up painting to join him on the village green to show off their work. He was delighted to be joined by 14 artists who all agreed that it should become an annual gathering.
There is also an opportunity to win a John Harris original painting in a raffle that costs £1 per ticket.
This is to support the maintenance of Inkberrow WI’s centenary tree project that has so far resulted in 200 trees being planted in old Inkberrow Common.
The free event runs from 10am to 5pm on Monday, August 26. Refreshments can be purchased from The Old Bull or Bull’s Head Pub nearby.
