Artistic tribute becomes a tourist attraction for Studley family

Redditch Editorial 8th May, 2020   0

A STUDLEY family have found their home turned into a bit of a tourist attraction after their house decorating went off course.

Claire Lancaster wanted to paint some dinosaurs for the couple’s three-year-old son Fin on their garden walls.

But then her husband Daryl got in on the act and the Blues Brothers appeared, and a Lancaster bomber and countless other images.

A post on Facebook led to a clamour for Colonel Tom Moore and with no room left on their walls, the couple painted the marvellous multi-million pound raising centenarian on their garage door.

“So many people were stopping and taking photos and they said we had to do Colonel Tom,” said Claire, a school teacher.

“We’d found the images on Google and projected them onto the wall at night time to get the outlines and then painted them the next day.

“With Col Tom we could only get him in silhouette but he’s there on the garage.”
