CROWDS flocked to last weekend’s Astwood Bank Carnival and enjoyed plenty of summer fun before the rain came.
The event – which ran from Friday evening through to Sunday evening – was centred around the Why Not Inn on Evesham Road.
The procession took place on the Saturday with carnival royalty leading the parade of floats, bands and walking groups.
There were stalls and trade stands in the arena with plenty of entertainment on offer, from singers and dancers to karate demonstrations and wrestling.
Other activities included pony rides, crazy golf, circus skills workshops, and fairground attractions.
There was a motor show featuring a wide range of vintage vehicles and classic cars, along with modern motors.
A diverse range of food was also on offer from traditional British fare to bhajis, burgers and everything in between, to delightful dishes from around the world, while Pimm’s and beer tents were provided by The Why Not Inn.
The organisers said they were overwhelmed with the response from local people.
They said: “Where to even begin with all the thank yous we’d like to give.
“To our sponsors, to the amazing attractions and performers, to the array of stall holders, to the delicious food and beverage vendors and to the incredible tribe of volunteers.
“And to all of you who came out in your thousands to support the day.
“It really was an amazing day and I’m sure it gets better year after year.”
