TWO BRAND new cars have been stolen from a property in Astwood Bank during a burglary.

Thieves stole the keys to a new grey Audi A6 (registration number LR65 3FJ) and a brand new grey Volkswagen Golf R (registration number DF64 XVE) during the incident on Badger Brook Lane which happened between 12am and 6.30am on Friday February 12.

It is thought the offenders were carrying a pair of ladders with them in the area between those times and that the Golf was heading towards Wythall on the A453 Alcester Road at about 5am that morning.

One of the thieves is described as a black man of stocky build who was wearing a white woolly hat, white scarf, a dark jacket, dark gloves and light coloured trousers.

The second offender is described as a white man of slim build and was wearing a light coloured hooded top, light tracksuit bottoms, dark gloves and a cap on under his hood.

PC Sam Cockburn said: “We would like to remind people to be extra vigilant with their keys.

“Car keys can be stolen by gaining access to a home through unsecured windows and doors and by using letter boxes.

“But by following a few extra measures you can reduce your likelihood of becoming a victim – homeowners should ensure doors are double locked, windows are secure and keys and other valuables are in a safe place, not on display.”

Anyone with any information, or who may have seen the cars, should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 72 of February 12
