COOKHILL Cricket Club celebrated a fine season after receiving a number of awards at the Worcestershire County League presentation night.
The club enjoyed a stunning year on the pitch as Cookhill’s first team, second team and women’s team all won their respective leagues.
The first team also triumphed in the Midweek Carter Cup to claim a double as Cookhill won four trophies in total during a fine campaign.
Cookhill club representatives received awards from former England cricketer Mark Ramprakash.
Cookhill player Zach Smith scored more than 800 runs and took 47 wickets in a fine individual season for the 16-year-old.
And Cookhill groundsman Neil Shuttleworth also won two awards for his excellent work on the club’s pitches at the Howard Brazil Memorial Ground.
The first team topped the table to earn promotion from Division Seven (North) after winning 17 of their 22 league matches, and the second team followed suit in Division Nine (North) with 14 wins from 18 league games.
The women’s side also excelled to win their league with nine victories from 10 matches.
