A TOP photographer who started her professional career with the Redditch Standard has donated a series of large canvas prints of newborn babies to the maternity wards at the Alexandra Hospital.
Emma Trimble made the donation together with fellow local photographer Cordelia Noble and now their work brightens up the corridors for everyone visiting the busy unit which sees the birth of some 2,000 babies every year.
Emma said: “We are so happy for our art to be given pride of place in the corridors and wards at the Alexandra Hospital and hope they make an impression on everyone who walks past.”
Her colleague Cordelia added: “I really love taking pictures of babies, especially in the first 14 days after they’re born because they have something so special and then, in a blink of an eye, they’re changing and growing and really developing.”
Patti Paine, divisional director of Nursing and Midwifery said: “The new artwork donated by Cordelia and Emma has brightened the corridors and wards at the Alexandra Hospital and has created much discussion among the public and staff .”
Emma started her photography career in 1999 working for the Redditch Standard.
