LOCAL schoolgirl Ashleigh Morris has won a design competition with a fantastic prize not only for herself but for her school.
The Tesco Extra store, on Coldfield Drive, invited local primary school children to design a poster to tell the store what they love about their local area and creative pupils set to work designing colourful posters showing their favourite things in Redditch.
And with the help of his team, store manager Kevin Wright selected Ashleigh Morris, age nine, from Crabbs Cross Academy as the winner.
In addition to a £25 Tesco gift card for herself and a Junior Chefs’ Academy Workshop for her school. Ashleigh’s creative design has been transferred onto 4,000 limited edition hessian bags and given out to children at Crabbs Cross Academy and customers in the Tesco Extra store.
Head teacher at Crabbs Cross Academy, Sarah Shakles, said; “Our whole school is very proud of Ashleigh and we are delighted that she has won this competition! Ashleigh’s design is very creative and detailed.”
