Bag yourself a treat at a Studley salon

A SALON owner from Studley is organising a fund-raiser with a difference to help a charity close to her family’s heart.

Carly Hands, whose cousin George Hands was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of just 25, is raising money for Bowel Cancer UK with a special nearly-new and second-hand bag sale at her salon, La Casa.

Joint-shop owner Carly said: “George’s shocking story made us want to raise awareness of how this disease can affect people of all ages and to raise some money to help too.

“But we also wanted to do something different – and every girl loves a handbag, so we thought ‘why not bag yourself a new accessory for a good cause?’”

Carly is currently looking for donations of good quality handbags which will each be sold on April 29 for reasonable price with all proceeds going to Bowel Cancer Uk charity.

Anyone who would like to donate a good quality bag to the cause can pop into the La Casa salon on Studley high-street and talk to Carly or Sadie.

A justgiving page was set up on March 20 in a bid to spread the word about bowel cancer and has already raised more than £3,000 for the cause.
