REDDITCH Borough Councillors voted unanimously to raise this year’s council tax by £5 for local householders.
The increase – 2.01 per cent – equates to 10p a week and brings the authority’s total take of council tax to £254.15p per year for a Band D property.
Those living in the parish of Feckenham will pay an extra precept of £40.05 taking their council tax to £294.20 per year.
As reported last week, Worcestershire County Council has increased its council tax take by 3.94 per cent to £1,396.78 per annum for a Band D property.
To this must be added a further increase from the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia Police of 3.94 per cent adding £249.66 to a typical Band D property council tax, plus £89.40 from Hereford and Worcester Fire Authority which has increased its take by 1.96 per cent.
Taken together this means that for the year ahead, 2022-23, Redditch householders in a typical Band D property will pay a total of £1,989.99.
