STUDLEY is joining with more than 100 independent High Streets across the UK for the Totally Locally Fiver Fest from June 12-26.
For Fiver Fest, Totally Locally is partnering with Visa, and together, they are calling on shoppers to divert £5 of their weekly spend to support the small businesses in their communities.
Fiver Fest’s message is: “If every adult in Studley spent just £5 per week in their local independent shops and businesses, it would mean £1.1million per year going directly into the local economy – which can lead to more jobs, a better high street, a stronger economy and a nicer place to live.”
Siân Smith, chair of Studley in Business said “Fiver Fest is now a big part of our promotions for Studley.
“The independent shops and businesses are what makes our village special and unique.
“The community support for local businesses has been amazing during lockdown, so these offers are to say thank you to customers, and to highlight the great value and economic impact of shopping locally.”
Fiver Fest has been running successfully in individual towns in the UK and abroad over the past seven years, and last October, 130 towns joined in together to make one huge Fiver Fest across the UK – from the north of Scotland to the south of England.
It comes as YouGov research has shown 59 per cent of shoppers have used more local shops to support them during lockdown – and want to keep on supporting them.
Some of the deals on offer in Studley are a £5 Wash and Go at Illumi Experience (usually £20), a regular coffee or homemade lemonade and cake for £5 at Bumbles and a Margherita Pizza for £5 from Fire & Fizz.
Otheres taking part include Partington’s Pupils, Studley Florist, A World of Time and Rough Hill Farm Shop
