LEADING property developer Barratt Homes West Midlands has raised £15,000 for Acorns Children’s Hospice through a golf tournament in which staff, construction contractors and other businesses took part.
In all 24 teams, each made up of four players, took part in the tournament, held at Redditch Golf Club.
The money raised will go towards the charity’s work providing care and support for children with life limiting or life threatening conditions and their families.
Amanda Smallman from Acorns, said: “This is an extremely generous and very welcome donation from the developers and the companies that took part in the golf tournament.
“Acorns relies on donations towards the nearly £10 million it costs to provide our vital care, so a big thank you to everyone involved.
“We are particularly grateful to Barratt Homes and its ongoing support and we look forward to developing this longstanding partnership.”
Graydon Worthing of Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “The tournament was a great day of golf enjoyed by all, made even better knowing that we were raising vital funds for Acorns.
“As responsible developers it’s our duty to contribute towards communities where we work, and it’s good to know that the money will be put towards saving improving children’s lives.”
Barratt Homes is currently building quality new homes at Malvern View on Church Road in Webheath and at Norton Farm on Birmingham Road in nearby Bromsgrove.
