A SUPPORT group in Redditch has been awarded accreditation for the Matrix Standard, the nationally recognised quality framework for organisations delivering advice and guidance services
Batchley Support Group (BSG) aims to empower local people by encouraging residents to take part in community activities.
It also promotes the area’s regeneration and access to services in a bid to reduce health inequalities. And it works to bring about more social inclusion and lifelong learning, along with campaigning on local issues.
The group said the achievement reflected its ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, impartial and effective support to individuals and the local community.
The Matrix Standard is managed by the Department for Education and is a benchmark of excellence in the delivery of information, advice and guidance.
The decision to award the Matrix Standard follows a visit by the assessor who scrutinised the group’s policies and procedures, interviewed the group’s staff and service users and met with partners.
Mark Barron, BSG community manager and director, said: “This latest award is invaluable to us as a major support group in Redditch which gives our clients and funding bodies assurance that we are providing the highest level of support that is needed.”
Phil Berry, chair of the group’s trustees said: “I would like to place on record our thanks to the manager, staff and volunteers who have all worked hard to achieve this major accreditation.
“Without them and their dedication we would not be able to deliver the services and support that we can offer to our community.”
Batchley Support Group, established for over 30 years, provides a community food pantry, accredited education and training support, housing and benefits advice and support from its premises in Prospect Hill, Redditch.
