WINYATES Green Residents Association has a brand new identity – thanks to a children’s competition that got the whole area involved.
Devised by mum of twins Daval Eddy, the aim was to raise the profile of the association, give it a fresh look and let people know it’s the one-stop shop for information on ‘the Green’.
Sponsored by local supermarket Londis on Furze Lane, the competition brought a great response from local youngsters who produced exceptional work, said Daval.
However there were winners, Jenson Basten, aged two, in the 2-5 years group, Josh Jones, aged nine in the 6-9 years group and Beany Oldfield, aged 13, in the 10-13 age group, with Beany also picking up the overall prize.
“A huge thank you to all who took part and an even bigger thank you to those who have worked behind the scenes to make this competition happen including a very generous donation from Londis Furze Lane,” said Daval.
“We have some amazing talented young people in Winyates Green and I hope they all continue to produce fantastic work.”
Chaired by Mark Crompton, WGRA is run for the residents by the residents.
