A COMMUNITY-run Facebook page has announced its plans to launch a Beautiful Redditch calendar for 2019.
And it’s appealing for help from local people to make it a reality.
The page, set up in the summer of 2017 and run by a local collective, aims to offer a more positive perspective on Redditch.
“We missed the boat last year to make a 2018 calendar and before we knew it that bloke who loves roundabouts was at it again,” said a spokesperson.
“We love him, but it’s time for Redditch to shake off that image to the world and come out with something more positive.
We are adamant that the money raised from our calendar will be donated to local causes to promote and enhance the beauty of Redditch even more.”
The group says its primary aim is to change the negative perception many people have about Redditch, including thosse who live here.
“We have already had a local designer come forward to help us pull the design together,” said the spokesperson.
“We hope to use local people and companies for everything. Advertising space will also be available to help fund the production as we need to pay the printers probably.
“We need people join the ‘calendar committee’ on Facebook by going to our page and joining our group. We need lots of help. The only condition is that everything we do is produced under the Beautiful Redditch name.”
