AN artist confined to her Redditch home due to the coronavirus lockdown has found an outlet for her frustration – by drawing a tribute to the emergency services on the driveway of her parents’ house.

Bethany Pearce, a member of Redditch Arts Circle, may only be 22 but she’s already successfully sold a number of works in the pop-up galleries in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

“She’s found the lockdown quite difficult to deal. with but we’ve been staying positive and she wanted to do something to say thank you to everyone who is helping us get through this,” said proud dad Jason.

Out came the chalk the pastels and Bethany settled down to make her driveway mural – and the result is stunning – a huge piece of art for all to see.

“It’s been eroded a bit by the weather now but it still looks fantastic,” said Jason.

“It’s put a smile on everybody’s faces.

“As a family we know a number of people who are receiving treatment at the Alex for a variety of reasons, and we’re out there on a Thursday night with everyone else clapping and banging pots at 8pm.

“It’s just a way of saying thank you.”

Bethany has also produced a special video featuring the mural which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/W7gGn-TRq
