Birchensale Middle School get in the festive spirit on Christmas Jumper Day

Harry Leach 29th Dec, 2018

PUPILS and staff at Birchensale Middle School have been getting in the festive spirit this week with a Christmas Jumper Day for the Redditch Food Bank.

Everyone came into school dressed in their brightest, most sparkling jumpers and donated an item of food to the Redditch Food Bank.

The food was accepted on behalf of the Redditch Foodbank by Pastor Andrew Diaper of the Redditch Baptist Church, who joined Birchensale for their morning assembly.

He got the festivities off to a flying start with his amazingly funny rendition of the Christmas story, using teacher’s as the main characters.

He had the children rolling around laughing by the end.

Mrs Sarah Homewood, the Teacher who organised the event, said “Birchensale pupils are always so generous with their donations to the Food Bank and every year I am amazed by just how much food is collected for this worthwhile cause and Pastor Andrew is a pure entertainer!”
