Birmingham and Solihull gang jailed for car thefts across Bromsgrove and Redditch

A GANG of car thieves have been sentenced at court for their roles in a campaign that involved stealing vehicles from north Worcestershire.

The four have each been found guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit burglary (home) and one count of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles in November and December 2023, including several in Redditch and Bromsgrove.

Eid Ajam, 20, of Blenheim Road, Solihull, and Sufian Younis, 21 of Sandy Hill Road, Solihull were convicted at Worcester Crown Court on Friday.

Ajam was sentenced to two years and 11 months for conspiracy to steal motor vehicle and two years and eight months to run concurrently for conspiracy to commit burglaries. He will serve two years, 11 months in total.

Younis was sentenced to two years and seven months for conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and two years and four months concurrently for conspiracy to commit burglaries. He will serve two years, seven months in total.

A 16-year-old from Birmingham, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and Alfie Flynn, 18, of Grimshaw Close, Birmingham were both sentenced for the same offences on October 17.




The 16-year-old was placed under a curfew for two months and ordered to complete a rehabilitation requirement and told not contact the others for a period of 12 months.

Flynn was sentenced to one year and three months, suspended for two years, for conspiracy to commit burglaries and one year and ten months concurrently for conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, which was also suspended for two years.


The gang of four were responsible for 11 offences in total – six in Redditch and Bromsgrove, four in Solihull area and one in Leamington. They were arrested from a vehicle that was linked to the offences.

Det Con Jodi Lothian, of north Worcestershire CID, said: “We are pleased to get these custodial sentences and guilty verdicts for this car key burglary gang who targeted the north Worcestershire area in 2023, concluding our investigation.

“West Mercia Police take vehicle crime seriously and will continue to hunt down and prosecute those stealing vehicles from our force area.”
