Blanket coverage is good news for Friends as Councillor gets the pins out

Redditch Editorial 3rd Jan, 2020   0

WHEN the League of friends at the Alexandra Hospital put out a request for knitted or crocheted lap blankets for patients with dementia, Redditch Borough Councillor Juliet Brunner answered the call.

“I normally use pastel colours to make baby blankets and shawls so it was delightful to use lots of bright colours for these lap blankets,” said Coun Brunner, who took 24 crocheted blankets to the Friends.

“I was pleased to be able to support the League of friends who do a wonderful job supporting the Alex.”

The Friends are also appealing for more volunteers from both Redditch and Bromsgrove to help run their coffee shop so they can raise more money for the little extras and significant pieces of medical equipment to help patients at the Alex.

They are also asking for donations of balls of wool to make blankets and twiddle muffs.

For more information, pop into the Alex and visit the cafe or their office opposite it.
