THE UK Queen of Blues Maggie Bell will be starring on the Saturday evening at next year’s ‘John Bonham A Celebration’ gig.
Maggie will appear with Dave Kelly of the Paul Jones’ Blues Band on the Saturday night of the two day spectacular in honour of the son of Redditch and legendary drummer of rock giants Led Zeppelin John Bonham.
Early bird weekend tickets for the celebration go on sale tomorrow morning, Thursday, November 28 at 10am via the Palace Theatre website – www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk.
The event has been organised by the John Bonham Memorial Friends, in partnership with The Palace Drum Clinic and is in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
‘JBAC II’ marks the 40th anniversary of the passing of John Henry Bonham on September 25, 1980 and the Redditch weekend of rock promises to be a truly fitting tribute.
Boasting a stellar line-up of Rock/Blues artists and special guests it will run from Friday, September 25 to Saturday, September 26 2020 in John’s home town of Redditch, Worcestershire.
Artists will be announced over the coming weeks, most of which will have a connection to the Bonham and Led Zeppelin family.
The event promises two evenings of incredible music and special guest speakers at The Palace Theatre, Redditch and fans will be able to buy both day tickets or weekend tickets covering both nights.
In keeping with the Bonham family’s wishes, this event will be inclusive of local musicians, so a free outdoor event will run during the daytime on September 26 showcasing the best in local artists and will include a performance from the winner of the Young Drummer of the Year competition 2019 which weas held at the Palace.
The weekend will continue to support the Teenage Cancer Trust, patron Roger Daltry CBE of The Who, building on the £23,000 raised in 2018.
