THE longest serving employee at Redditch based company Heartbeat Manufacturing Co. Ltd has retired after over 55 years’ service to the business.

Robert Cave, (Bob) retired on Friday 1st October with an emotional farewell to the rest of his team.

Bob has had multiple roles within the business through the years, from apprentice through to foreman in the metal shop, and then warehouse manager in a later role.

Bob said: “It will be very strange on Monday morning not having to get up for work, but I’ve already got a long list of things I’ve got to do around the house now I have the time.

“I’d like to thank everybody past and present who I’ve worked with over the years”.

Heartbeat Manufacturing Co. Ltd. specialises in bespoke manufacture and installation of retail, supermarket, hotel and accommodation fixtures and fittings – who itself celebrated it’s 75th year anniversary in March this year.

The business has had a very difficult 18 months through the pandemic but following the successful acquisition by HLD Group, 15th March 2021, the future is bright as the company looks to steadily build with the backing from their new owners.

Managing director Ross Kendall said: “In this day and age 55 years’ continued service to one company is unheard of and when I try to put into perspective as a football fan, it is crazy to think that Bob was working here at Heartbeat when England won the World Cup in 1966.

“We thank Bob for his loyalty to the business and wish him all the very best for the future.”
