JOBS such as plumbing, which require high levels of manual dexterity, are at less risk of being digitalised according to the latest research from Oxford University academics and demonstrate that training as a plumber or heating engineer will offer long-term job security.

In a new report researchers discuss the huge impact technology is likely to have on employment possibilities across many industries in the future.

The study found that manual dexterity, creativity and social intelligence were three key characteristics protecting jobs from automation.
