A COCKTAIL bar in Alcester has been chosen as the venue for a new ‘Boozy Book Club’.
The first event will take place on March 30 and will be hosted by proprietors Liz French and Louise Hanks with the help of marketing expert, Jessica Sweetingham from Talking Tortoise.
Attendees will get their first cocktail included within the ticket price and will also receive a free copy of local author John Crawshaw’s romance novel, The Swing.
John who lives in Alcester, was diagnosed with dyslexia and had never read a novel before he published his first one in 2021.
The author now has a portfolio of books and is currently working on a sequel to The Swing.
Boozy Book Club members will be able to meet John at the event and get their copy of his novel signed during the evening.
‘’The idea of a book club could be considered to be quite uninspiring, but when paired with delicious cocktails, good books and close friends, there is a recipe for a fantastic evening of fun and laughter,’’ said Ms Sweetingham.
Event capacity is strictly limited and tickets priced at £12 each are now on sale.
