Borough urges local firms to sign up to supply chain framework

Redditch Editorial 21st Aug, 2020   0

THERE’S an opportunity for local businesses in Redditch to join the public sector supply framework provider Fusion 21.

Local authorities like Redditch Borough Council are obliged to use such frameworks to ensure a fair distribution of works contracts.

Specialising in the construction, property and built environment, Fusion21 offers a range of national procurement services for local authorities in a drive to get best value for money.

Last year the borough council ran a free event, ‘Tendering For Local Contracts (TLC)’ to help local businesses understand how to win business from the borough council and the wider public sector.

A key message from the event was the importance of applying for inclusion on relevant frameworks so as not to miss out on public sector opportunities.

Councillor Craig Warhurst, whose portfolio housing and covers procurement, said “We are committed to supporting our local businesses and seeing them succeed and we will be sharing more on this in the coming months.

“Redditch Borough Council may or may not use this particular framework in the future but it is through seizing opportunities like this that local businesses will maximise their potential to work with the public sector and boost the Redditch economy.”
