IT was eyes down at Studley’s Entaco Club this week when the village’s St Mary’s C of E School took on St Mary’s RC School battled it out at bowls.
The brainchild of Studley Entaco Bowls Club to encourage youngsters into the sport, this was the second year the competition had run.
More than 90 pupils had got involved in the pastime, learning techniques and developing the skills in a series of taster sessions to hopefully take the sport with them as they grow up.
“Bowls is often seen as an older person’s sort of game but as these youngsters have discovered it gets you out in the fresh air, enjoying exercise and meeting new people,” said George Kenneth from the club.
In the end though there could only be one winner and that was St Mary’s RC School who clinched the trophy for the second year in a row.
