Brave Redditch buddies bare all in memory of late wife

A GROUP of Redditch men have stripped off for a naked calendar in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Organiser of the shoot, Neil Grubb, said the idea first came when he went skinny dipping with his friend Andy in Torquay.

Andy had not long lost his 52-year-old wife, Lisa Lent, to the wicked disease which has no cure.

“We wanted to do a calendar in memory of Lisa, doing it as risque as possible but while keeping it in good taste,” said Neil.

“It was harder to organise then I thought it would be.

“We had to do several photo shoots around Redditch and it was difficult to get everyone together at once.”

Neil was joined by his son Harry, friends and even his own barber in going starkers in front of the camera.

He said many of the participants felt ‘liberated’ and less conscious about their bodies after doing the shoots.

Local businesses including Astwood Bank Doctors, ASAP Printing, Styles Barbers, Botany Bay Nurseries, Morris Mica and The Beauty Clinic all have the calendar for sale.

It costs £10 with all of the proceeds going to charity.

For more information or to buy the calendar directly call Neil on 07795 293145.

And people can do more to boost the charity by supporting fundraiser Dave Hatton whose band Fret Jesters will be playing a charity gig at the Holly Bush in Alcester on Saturday, November 30 at 8.30pm.
