Bright future as Studley nursery marks 25th anniversary

THERE was a nostalgic feel in the air at Bright Kids Studley as the nursery celebrated 25 years since opening with a ‘Party Like it’s 1999’ themed bash for the children and staff.

Set up by owner, and mother-of-two Tricia Wellings, Bright Kids Studley, opened its doors on January 18 1999 as the founding nursery in the family group.

There were just three children and three members of staff on that first day.

Emma Beard, operations director, said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating this great achievement. Since starting 25 years ago the Bright Kids brand and quality ethos has grown and evolved.

“Everyone seems to be have had a fun day, and of course there was a superb cake, showing some things haven’t changed.”

Following the success of her first nursery and using the Bright Kids brand, Tricia and her team have since opened a further seven nurseries, in Redditch, Coughton, Evesham, Birmingham and Coventry, along with out-of-school clubs in Matchborough, Studley, Birmingham and Crabbs Cross.

The group has its own early years training centre and provides consultancy services to other nurseries.

Both of Tricia’s children, Katie and Zoe, work within the business.

Now her three grandchildren all attend nurseries within the group to keep this tradition going as well.

Tricia said: “I am so proud to see Bright Kids celebrating this amazing 25-year milestone.

“I had no idea when we started the nursery all those years ago just how far we would come.

“We’re passionate about providing excellent childcare to all our families and are thrilled to have been able to do this for the last 25 years.

“It’s not an easy landscape to navigate with many changes in our rules and regulations, not least helping deliver the funded hours on behalf of the government.

“Happy birthday to all of the staff and children in our Studley setting who have made it the success that it is, and here’s to many more years.”
