REDDITCH’S very own ‘Lord of the Rings’ has done it again – this time with a calendar celebrating ‘Allotments of Redditch’.
Featuring 12 great photos elevating the ordinary into something to toast, the calendars are sure to find a home under Christmas trees the length and breadth of the country.
Kevin Beresford first hit the headlines with his bestselling calendar ‘Roundabouts of Redditch’.
Since then he has become an international hit with people from around the world snapping up his Redditch calendars.
He said: “I think the world’s tired of calendars firefighters’ six packs, One Direction and the like.
“My calendars are more like no direction.”
Kevin’s latest set of snaps seem to have broken the mundane mould.
He added: “From the beginning I have always thought allotment people as quite dull.
“I don’t have a problem with this as I belong to the Dull Men’s Club and I’m also the Ambassador of the Mundane.
“After touring Redditch allotments and talking to the growers, I discovered what an amazing bunch they all are.”
Kevin said he did not realise the work they did to help the environment.
“The amount of recycling equipment such as old bath tubs, sinks, toilets, you name it – anything that can hold soil and has its own drainage system can be used.
“These diggers have become the true Eco-Warriors.”
Of the allotments Kevin toured, Astwood Bank became his favourite.
