KAREN Lumley, MP for Redditch County, visited the British Heart Foundation (BHF) stand at Conservative Party Conference, taking part in the ‘Keep Research Rolling’ challenge to support her estimated 10,000 constituents living with cardiovascular disease.
On Tuesday, October 4, 2016, Karen found out about how to ensure UK research stays at the top of its game so the charity can continue making lifesaving discoveries.
Karen said: “Medical research is one of the UK’s strongest assets, improving the lives of patients, both at home and around the world, and generating significant returns for the UK economy.
“This is thanks to a team effort, with investment from the Government supporting funding from charities like the BHF.
“We need to protect our world-class research environment if we are to prevent, diagnose and treat devastating conditions like cardiovascular disease in Redditch and nationwide.”
