A REDDITCH woman recently held a Cabaret event at Lodge Park Social Social Club raising £500 for the people who care for her terminally ill husband.

Vicky Hayes, from Crabbs Cross, says the money will go to the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease team at Worcester Royal Hospital and the Carers Association at Primrose Hospice.

Both groups have been caring for her husband Tony, who has end stage of the lung disease emphysema.

Vicky said: “Myself and Tony wanted to raise money for the people who have made our lives just that little bit easier.

“Tony has a better quality of life thanks to carers who have come to see him and the adaptions they have made to our home.

“We wanted to give something back.”

The charity event raised £300 on the raffle and a further £200 from the auction of two Birmingham City tickets.
