Cakes galore as Bake Off drive aims to boost Pride March funds

REDDITCH LGBTQ Support Services will be holding a Bake Off this Saturday, August 29 to help raise funds for the first Redditch Pride March on June 5, 2021.

Councillor Joe Baker, chair of the LGBTQ committee said: “This is a great event to hold very similar to when I was the Mayor, you bake a great cake bring it on Saturday, enter it in our competition and the cake gets sold to raises funds for our Pride event.

“There will be certificates for 1st 2nd and 3rd place. So get those ovens on and get baking.”

Councillor Bill Hartnett and local cake business owner Shelley Millward will be judging the cakes along with Councillor Joe Baker.




There will also be a Barbecue and picnic for visitors so bring some food to enjoy to make this a more enjoyable.

It all promises to be a family friendly event with all friends and supporters of the local LGBTQ community welcome to attend and enter.


The event is being held at the Winyates Craft Centre and cakes have to be in by 3pm on Saturday.

Judging and event starts at 4pm. Social distancing will be in place.
