THE limelight beckons for budding dance stars to join the Palace Theatre’s panto Aladdin.
Starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Robin Windsor and Michael Auger of Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro, the panto opens on Monday, December 10, 2018.
To join the stars on stage the Palace is looking for junior dancers no older than 12 years old on the date of the audition – Sunday, September 9 – and no younger than nine on the first day of rehearsals – Thursday, November 29.
They must be a minimum of Grade 1 standard in ISTD (or equivalent) modern, ballet and tap and can be no taller than 4ft 11ins and must be available without exception for the entirety of the rehearsal and show period – the last performance is on Sunday, January 6, 2019.
They may also be required to rehearse two weekends prior to full rehearsal start date.
Both school and home must be within 30 minutes travelling distance of the theatre and every child must have a female relative over the age of 21 years who is willing to obtain a chaperone’s licence and chaperone the shows on a rota basis.
Auditions will be held at The Palace Theatre on September 9, arrive at 12midday with auditions starting at 1pm.
Children must be accompanied by their own parent. If accompanied by another adult the child must have a pre-signed consent form with them obtainable from the children’s co-ordinator Jane Griffiths.

Children who are recalled may be at the theatre for up to three hours and so should have drinks with them as well as all relevant shoes and dance wear.
All successful applicants will be subject to local education authority performance licensing.
