Can she cut it? Find out when 42nd Street comes to the Palace

TIME is running out to book tickets for the spectacular 42nd Street at the Palace Theatre next week.

The all-singing and dancing show runs from Tuesday to Saturday, April 5-9 and marks the long-anticipated return of Studley Operatic Society (SOS) to the Palace.

Excited to be getting back out on stage, the company will be putting on a truly glamorous production of the much-loved musical 42nd Street.

The show is centred around the story of Peggy Sawyer, a fresh-faced chorus girl trying to make her way to stardom in the big city. Renowned director Julian Marsh is ‘doing a show’ that Peggy is desperate to be in.

But while she misses the initial audition, her dancing prowess, tap dancing talent and charismatic flair wins over the show’s male star, Billy Lawlor, as well as her fellow chorus members.

However, can she cut it and convince Julian that she’s more than just one of the crowd?

Packed with sensational tap numbers, memorable tunes, and more costume changes than you’ve ever seen before, 42nd Street is the distillation of all the talents of cast and crew to blow away the cobwebs of the past two years and breathe new life into the revival of live theatre.

“What a joy it is to finally be able to get back to some form of normality,” said Myra Hughes, president of SOS.

“We are so lucky to have such a wonderful production team and highly talented cast pouring their hearts and souls into this year’s show.

“We’re now finally ready to perform once again at the Palace, and what an absolute pleasure it is to do so with the spectacular 42nd Street.”

Tickets cost just £19 from the Palace box office or on 01527 65203 or buy online at www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk/

Show are nightly at 7.30pm with an additional matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday.
