A youngster’s football team in Redditch has secured a vital donation from a local firm.
Redditch United U6’s have received a £1,000 cash boost from Persimmon Homes South Midlands as part of its Community Champions initiative.
Redditch Utd U6’s are part of a Birimingham FA-affiliated grassroots club, offering opportunities in the West Midlands.
The club has a number of teams which play in the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League, with Persimmon’s donation going towards the cost of new kits, tournament fees and equipment for 2024.
Lewis Solway at Redditch Utd Under 6’s, said: “It’s great to have the support of the Persimmon team and we’re so pleased to have secured this kind donation ahead of the new year.
“The teams are going from strength to strength, so to know we have the backing of local businesses located close to our club is a huge boost to us.”
Amanda Rogers, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in.
“We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local sports groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“We’re delighted to be able to offer this donation to Redditch Utd Under 6’s, and wish them all the best of luck for future tournaments.”
