Cat Rescue Redditch unveil new facilities for felines

Redditch Editorial 28th Aug, 2017   0

TWO brand new pens for cats at Redditch Cat Rescue were unveiled this week, with volunteers and supporters on hand to help the rescued residents settle in.

Redditch Cat Rescue are a voluntary group who rescue, neuter, rehabilitate, re-home and and relocate cats, finding new homes for the felines in their care.

As one of the charities Redditch Councillor Pattie Hill supported during her time as Mayor, she was invited with other volunteers to see the newly built pens funded by the monies raised during her year and other donations and through fundraising efforts.

An evening of cheese and wine and a cake was laid on to thank all who help rescue and re-home the cats.

Coun Hill said: “It was delightful to see newly born kittens tucked up in their new pens and the other older cats resting in a dry, warm shelter.”

The centre re-homed more than 120 cats and kittens last year and manager Mel Booth said: “We were extremely proud and grateful to be one of the Mayor’s chosen charities. Thank you so much Pattie for your support.

“It’s a tough and busy job we have on our hands and we’ve been saving for these new pens for many years.”
