CBeebies star Andrea joins the cast for Palace's panto production

THIS may be lockdown Britain for now, but there’s good cheer on the horizon with another fabulous panto production at the Palace Theatre in the pipeline.

Already lined up for the title role in Jack and the Beanstalk is Mark Read – lead singer with 90s boyband A1 – and this week it was announced that joining him on the Palace stage will be Andrea Valls, star of CBeebies Waffle the Wonder Dog.

Andrea will be instantly recognisable to youngsters (and their parents) as ‘Mum’ Jess, in the heart-warming family comedy show and in a nod to her Waffle character she will star as Princess Jess in the panto.

The Palace panto has consistently punched above its weight, providing priceless entertainment at a fraction of the price of the big metropolitan productions and right in the heart of Redditch too.

“With her natural warmth, charm and energy not to mention a fantastic singing voice, Andrea is the perfect choice for our vivacious Princess Jess – and if she can handle a talking dog I’m sure our Giant will be no match for her,” said panto producer Paul Holman.

Filled to the brim with toe-tapping pop songs, high energy dance routines, laugh-out-loud comedy and breathtaking special effects along with all the well-loved pantomime traditions and plenty of chances to join in the fun, Jack and the Beanstalk has something for all the family this Christmas.

The production will run from Monday, December 7, 2020 to Sunday, January 3 and tickets are on sale now via https://bit.ly/jackpantopalthea.

It’s worth booking them early too as last year’s panto, Cinderella, was the Palace’s most successful ever, smashing all box office records with a 93 per cent capacity over its month long run and raising more than £300,000 in ticket sales.
