Celebrating 105 years of Redditch Royal British Legion

THE REDDITCH branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) celebrated its 105th Anniversary with a Right Royal Knees Up at Bridley Moor Social Club.

People gathered to pay tribute to the work the RBL has done across the town and the support given to soldiers and veterans.

Branch President Philip Jarvis, whose father Kenneth was a founding member and one of the original committee, spoke at the event.

He said: “My father would have been delighted we have celebrating the 105th anniversary of the opening of the Redditch Branch.

“It’s wonderful we are still here after a century and it is a measure of how much the people of Redditch care about our veterans and servicemen and women.”

Branch Chairman Gerry Marsden added: “On behalf of all the committee, it is an honour and a privilege to continue in the footsteps of our forefathers.

“Fundraising is an important part of our work and we do invite all residents to join us to support our veterans at our 105th anniversary celebration.”
