Chance meeting filed as charity success

A CHANCE encounter at a nail salon has led to a £475 donation to a Redditch charity.

Deb Nickless (left), who works for the Pertemps People Development Group in Albert Street, got chatting to fellow customer Tina Cross-Watson (right) from Victim Support as the pair had their nails done.

After finding out about the work done by the organisation, based in the Ecumenical Centre, she persuaded her colleagues to make a donation from the company’s payroll giving scheme.

Deb said: “I was amazed at the work being done by Victim Support and I really knew little about them until my visit to the salon.”

Liz Finn, service delivery manager for Victim Support, added they were ‘extremely appreciative of the very generous donation’.

“Victim Support is the oldest and largest victims’ organisation in the world, providing emotional and practical support to victims of all types of crime.” she said.

“This contribution will enable us to purchase promotional materials to use when publicising our services around the town.”
