Chance to get up on the stage in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 12th Dec, 2017   0

BUDDING young actors in Redditch looking for a chance to strut their stuff on stage are invited to try out for the Palace Youth Theatre Group’s summer show.

On December 19, auditions will open for the Palace Youth Theatre Group’s (PYT) summer performance of ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’, a show set to include some song and dance numbers too.

Young people aged eight to 18 are invited to get involved in the production which will go live at the Palace on July 12, 2018, with rehearsals starting in January.

Youngsters should prepare a 30 second to one minute -section of any song they like, which they can do acapella or to a backing track, for the audition on December 19, from 5pm to 6.15pm for eight to 11-year-olds, and 6.15pm to 9pm for 12-18-year-olds.

Non-singing parts are also available and the acting element of the audition will be in the style of a workshop so does not need any preparation.

The borough council’s youth theatre and arts officer Liz Tabberer said: “We have great fun in the shows and they are a great privilege to be a part of, especially performing on the Palace Theatre Stage. Do you want to make new friends, build confidence and try something new – what are you waiting for? Come and get involved.”

Anyone interested in auditioning should register by emailing their name, age and parent or guardian’s email address to [email protected] for an application pack.
