Chance to invest in green energy bid for Alcester and Studley residents

Redditch Editorial 20th Jan, 2018   0

A RENEWABLE energy initiative based in Warwickshire is aiming to tackle fuel poverty in the community and improve the lives of people living in cold homes.

Heart of England Community Energy has acquired three existing solar farms on the old DEFRA site just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon, and is inviting people interested in renewable energy to show their support and attend a meeting next week (January 24)

From 5.30pm until 7.30pm at Stratford Town Hall, Heart of England Community Energy (HECE) will be launching a shares investment offer for local people who want to invest in HECE which is a community benefit society – a form of mutual organisation – to directly benefit their local community.

This community ownership model means local shareholders get a potential return on their investment and have an equal say in how the projects are operated and how they can invest profits back into the area.

The solar farms generate enough electricity to supply 4,500 homes.
