Chance to test your voice in Redditch Choral Society 'taster session'

Redditch Editorial 13th Feb, 2020   0

REDDITCH Choral Society is holding a ‘taster session’ so people can discover the joy, camaraderie and good health of singing together.

It’s on Wednesday, March 4 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and visitors are invited to pop along at any time to see the singers in action, listen to some music and even have a go themselves.

“We are a friendly choir of all ages – some have been members for years and some who are new recruits,” said spokesperson Bridget Quinn.

“We are always looking for new singers and you may be pleased to know there are no auditions!”

RSC performs two concerts a year in St Stephen’s Church or Trinity High School in the town centre.

Some of the Choral pieces are very well known and others are chosen to give variety and a bit of a challenge.

The choir has already started rehearsals for the midsummer concert on June 20, 2020 at St Stephen’s Church.

Led by their young music director Emily Tyrrell, they have chosen Haydn’s stupendous Creation which the choir will sing with four professional soloists and a professional orchestra.

“Singing with professionals is a joy for RSC members – and there will be an ‘eco’ theme to the concert – more details to follow!” added Bridget.

The taster session is at the choir’s regular rehearsal venue, Crabbs Cross Methodist Church.

For more information call Emily on 07725 893744 or find the group on Facebook.
