A REDDITCH chip shop has been helping customers get in the Christmas spirit by offering battered mince pies and battered pigs in blankets.
The sausages wrapped in bacon went down a storm at Church Hill Chippy last year so they decided to add even more festive treats.
Stan, from the chippy, told the Standard: “They’ve gone down really well – they’re a little bit different as we don’t have much sweet stuff on the menu.
“Mince pies are quite divisive – some people really love them and others don’t.
“But we’ve actually had some customers who do not usually like mince pies but love the battered version.”
The battered mince pies and pigs in blankets will be available until Christmas Eve and the staff are already planning some new festive treats to try for next Christmas.
