THE CHILDREN’S A&E waiting room at Alexandra Hospital in Redditch has recently been given a transformation thanks to the League of Friends of Alexandra Hospital and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity providing collaborative funding.
The two charities joined together to ensure that the environment was as welcoming, warm and interactive as possible for the hospital’s youngest patients.
The project saw artwork, furniture and wall games installed throughout the waiting room, bringing colour and comfort to the dedicated children’s space.
Waiting in A&E can be a stressful and emotional time for young patients, their loved ones and carers and having a more comfortable space to wait and rest can make a real difference to patient experience.
The League of Friends of the Alexandra Hospital exist to support the Alex in relieving and supporting patients both past and present in addition to supporting NHS staff and services to carry out their work at the hospital.
